Beautiful 1850s Distaff Vignette - The Red Rose And The White

This was a delight to work on, and we were grinning at the results.  From an illustrated weekly of the late 1850s, this disbound page had considerable foxing, a common enough problem that you just have to devote some time to.
We decided to play with the background, and laid our ladies onto a canvas background I shot from the back of a painting of Maude Adams, that we keep in our files to play with as needed.

I've saved a number of borders to use from disparate sources, in whole or in part, but me and Addye were in the mood to just create something pretty yet subtle, and came up with what you see here.

The charm and loving friendship of the gals comes through, sparklingly.

Will work with a standard storebought 18 x 24 frame, or cut down that frame you've held onto since forever just waiting for right vision to come calling.
